Nadi Pariksha or Pulse diagnosis is described first among the Eight fold examination Ashta Sthana Pariksha of Ayurveda since ages ayurvedic physicians are known to diagnose the diseases solely on the basis of the same, still now when a patient in India goes to an ayurvedic doctor he simply extends his wrist to Vaidya and expects to know diagnosis from him. During Mughal rule this art of diagnosis was adopted by Hakims and traveled to Persia and became very popular in Unani system of medicine also
