25 patients were selected from OPD/IPD of Dayanand Ayurvedic Hospital
Symptoms taken
- Anorexia
- Pruritis
- Hepatomegaly
- Fever
- Malaise
- Nausea
- Severe weakness
- Yellowish urine
- Yellowish eyes
Liver function tests selected
- Serum bilirubin
- Total
- Direct
- Indirect
- Serum alkaline phosphatase
- SGOT (IU)
- SGPT (IU)
Formulation of ‘Livotone’
- Silybum marianum
- Picrorhiza kurroa
- Borhavia diffusa
- Phyllanthus amarus
- Swertia chirayita
- Eclipta alba
- Tephrosia purpurea
- Andrographis paniculata
Exclusion criteria
- Patients having cardiac, renal, endocrine disorders
- Patients having inconclusive diagnosis
- Patients of age <20 & >70 years
Inclusion criteria
- Patients of age group between 30 – 70 years
- Duration of disease 0 – 3 years
- Selection of patients
- 25 patients were selected from
OPD/IPD of Dayanand Ayurvedic hospital
- Trial period was for 3 months duration
- Patient were instructed to take livotone regularly
Other Recommendations
1. Few yoga postures
2. Sheetali pranayama
3. Ujjayi breathing
4. Meditation for 20 minutes
5. Morning/Evening walk for 30-45 minutes
Results
- After completing trial of three months every patient was again
subjected to same laboratory testing as before starting livotone to find
out the positive changes.
- Liver function tests were parameters for assessment
